Bosnia-Herzegovina
Languages spoken in Bosnia-Herzegovina: Bosnian.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, a state in southeastern Europe, emerged from the former Yugoslavia but now has the borders that were assigned to the country at the Congress of Berlin in 1878. The economy was pretty much destroyed after the Bosnian war (1992-1995) and recovered only very slowly with massive international aid. Export demand and investment activity are considered to be important drivers.
The large and inefficient public sector, bureaucratic obstacles for entrepreneurs and the fragmented labor market, which reflects the country's ethnic division, are seen as problematic for the economic development. Nevertheless, annual economic growth of over 3% is expected in the coming years.
