Captioning is the first step before translating

If you produced a video in English that you want to translate into Bosnian, first you should get the captions and then translate into Bosnian and into as many languages as you wish. Captions are specially useful for people with hearing disabilities, and also in noisy places (like airports and train stations) or in places where audio can be a nuisance, like hospitals. Captions are a transcription of the original audio. Some words might be changed and repetitions are deleted to get short and compact sentences.

Some facts about the Bosnian language

Bosnian is a Slavic language mainly spoken in Bosnia and Herzegovina. About 2.2 million people speak it. Bosnian began to emerge as a distinct language after the disintegration of Yugoslavia in the 1990s. This alphabet was only used in Bosnia. During the Ottoman period, Bosnian was written with a version of the Arabic alphabet.
The first Bosnian dictionary, a Bosnian-Turkish glossary, written by Muhamed Hevaji Uskufi, dates from 1631.

Bosnian is closely related to Croatian, Serbian and Montenegrin, and its speakers understand each other.
